| This
is one of my earliest watercolor paintings, which is where I migrated
after messing around with acrylics for over a year. This was something
new to me, so I was still playing around, seeing just what I could
do and wondering how to pull off various effects.
This
is one of those early paintings that mixes watercolors with Liquid
Paper and marker pens. The insides of the various shapes, the oranges,
reds, greens, and blues, This was something of a signature style
of mine, and you can see it scattered across various acrylic and
watercolor paintings like Brave
New World, Restless
Soul, The Unforgiven,
and Midnight Magic.
Midnight
Magic is the one that is closest to Desert Sands.
But that was because I enjoyed that painting so much, I wanted to
create more of the same stripe. As long as I wasn't shamelessly
repeating myself - an all-too common problem in the art world -
I was happy.
I
wasn't too happy with this painting, but it really does look good,
there's a lot of movement, and there's a lot of different things
to direct your attention. It's very good. |
