| Hmm.
What am I missing here? Could it be, I dunno....an arm?!
What
was I thinking here? Maybe for you, this isn't an issue, but for
me, this was always the first thing that jumped to mind. For some
unknown reason, I never finished drawing the left arm. Now, of course,
(March 2004), I would simply reframe the picture, and move the model
to the edge of the frame. That would solve the arm dilemma, give
the painting an asymmetric composition, and just look cool. But
that's what I would do now.
I
wan't completely satisfied with this painting, but looking now,
I have to say it's pretty good. I wanted to paint some models as
a challenge to myself, to improve my drawing and sketching skills.
Considering that I was still very much learning, Anne looks very
good. This pose is especially challenging, and I'm impressed that
I could pull it off.
Not
bad, overall. Very similar to Mogdilani and Rouault, who were interests
of mine at the time. |
