| The
title is something of a play on words. The original source is Dr.
Seuss' "Horton Hears a Who." The other source is Miyamoto's
Yoshi's Island, the 1995 follow-up to Super Mario World,
featuring a dinsaur named Yoshi who can shoot eggs through his butt
(don't ask). A classic children's book and a classic videogame,
both the work of creative geniuses. How can you go wrong?
This
painting was the third Watercanvas painting made, after Mario
and Luigi Are Jerks and The
Great American Sellout. This was my least favorite of the
three, one of my least favorite of the whole series. It was more
frustration than anything, and I don't think I ever achieved what
I was looking for. On the other hand, the green and red tones present
an almost Christmas feel, and it does have its charms. Perhaps more
of an experiment in my eyes, but don't let that influence your thinking
in any way. If you enjoy, then good for you. |
