Y'know,
when you live in a state that gets snow six to nine months a year,
you really become envious about the summer.
The name comes from a girl I once knew, named (surprise) Abby. She
was a warm, fun gal, very beautiful. She unfortunately winded up
with this religious sect whose idea of The Gospel involved shutting
out everyone and everything that didn't conform, including family
members.
Unfortunate.
Life is often full of these disappointments. Perhaps she is happy
where she is; of course, if that were the case, she would shower
that warmth beyond those in her immediate social clique. Such is
how most people define kindness.
On
the other hand, I ran into her younger sister, Sarah, around Thankgiving
2002, with whom I used to work with, and have many fond memories.
By now, she should be finished with college and on a solid path.
I'll always remember Sarah's kindness and generosity, both rarities. |
