The Return of the Son of Superpaint

2000 - Coloring Book with Crayons

What's with all these Zappa riffs? In the '80s, Frank Zappa put out three albums of guitar solos (terrific records, by the way). The third album was The Return of the Son of Shut Up an' Play Yer Guitar; when I needed to title this piece, I had the perfect inspiration ready to go. I was on a real Zappa kick at the time I was writing out titles for this set.

As I'm looking at this sketch now, I'm wondering why I didn't create more George executions. That would be funny. The inspiration here came largely from the original composition from the coloring book, and looks pretty good. Imagine if your child came home from school with this. Pat Robertson and Jerry Fallwell would be starting a full-blown witch hunt.

But don't they do that, already? Frauds.
