I'm
still a little ectatic about last night's debate. For so many of
us around the world, this is the moment we've waited four years
for. For the first time in his life, George W. Bush had to take
responsibility for his actions, and he had nowhere to hide. This
was a spectacular debate for many reason, but most of all because
we finally got that Joe McCarthy Moment.
"At
long last, have you no sense of decency?" With that short exchange,
McCarthy's fangs were smashed and his career ended. Perhaps it wasn't
immediately apparent, but that moment spelled the end of his career.
So it is the same with Bush. Here is the worst Presidency in the
history of the Republic, finally being forced to face reality. And,
as we can all clearly see, this man cannot face reality.
Is
that what you want in a President? Someone who will stick their
fingers in their ears when told what they don't want to hear? Someone
who equates changing one mind with moral weakness? Please. Spare
me.
I
don't have to make the case for John Kerry. I don't need to explain
why Bush must go. This debate speaks for itself. This was one of
the greatest fights we've ever see. The Rumble in the Jungle, perhaps?
The closest fighting analogy I can think of is when Buster Douglas
knocked out Tyson. That man destroyed Tyson. And
Kerry just did the same to Bush.
Kerry
was solid granite. The man was firm, uncompromising, knowledgable;
he knows his facts. And Bush? He could only repeat the same three
talking points that he's memorized over the last three years. Oh,
and he could pout. He could make pooh-pooh faces. He could sure
as hell throw a tantrum.
This
is a grown adult? This is a petulant, spoiled crybaby. A big baby
who lives in a bubble and can't stand criticism. A baby who has
failed miserably on every front and will never admit to reality.
It
doesn't matter anymore. 62 million Americans finally saw the truth.
I watched at the Coffman Student Union at the University of Minnesota,
along with a roomful of students. And let me tell you, these kids
were laughing at Bush. They were laughing at his sorry antics. The
man has become a joke, a bumbling, whiny Homer Simpson who was in
way over his head. These students know the score; they looked at
Bush and saw a childish baffoon. They'll never allow this man-child
to draft them and shift them out to Iraq.
George Bush got his ass whupped. He got whupped because Kerry is
the far better candidate. He got whupped because he can't face reality.
George Bush shrunk last night; he shriveled and receded behind that
podium in the course of 90 minutes.
Bush
lost the Presidency last night in front of 62 million Americans,
and John Kerry took it from him. Don't take my word for it; watch
the fight for yourself. Bring popcorn, and bring your funny bone. |
