1999 - Oil Paints and Markers on Canvas

Okay, confession time. This painting isn't made with acrylics at all, but oils. A dear friend of mine brought me an old set of oil paints one day, and I tried to mess around with them. Unofrtunately, there wasn't much to work with, mostly reds and blacks. One oil painting ended up being donated to a silent art auction, and the other one became Easter 1999. If you look closely, you'll see that the color in this piece is virtually nonexistence. There was some color added with marker pens, mostly the grass and the eggs.

I did not enjoy working with oil paints. They make a tremondous mess and they smell like nothing else. Well, that's not entirely true; if you've ever seen puppies being born, then you'll recognize the smell.

On the b-side, there's not too much except a group of tags, listing my favorite Atari 2600 videogames from my childhood. Like I'm fooling anyone; I have the emulator on my computer. For a while I was actually interested in seeing paintings in that blocky, abstract style of the Atari 2600. It would be interesting to see, from a pop-culture point of view, but I couldn't see myself being enthralled with the idea anymore. Maybe some of you should do something.
