A
Zest For Life is a good name, optimistic and hopeful enough
to work. A digital painting as bright and colorful as this needs
an upbeat name. You can already see that I'm trying to push more
color, more saturation, into my artwork. I also wanted digital art
that looked natural, painterly, and not obviouly punched out of
Photoshop.
The
color and saturation marks a new high for me. I remember always
trying to keep the color dulled down on my Acrylic paintings, focusing
instead on texture. My influence came from extensive studying of
abstract art, and the black-and-white photos in the many books.
Today,
however, I'm far more interested in having something luminous, saturated.
The computer is the perfect tool for this, and the results are plain
for all to see. Terrific, bold color; endless movement around the
frame; a little fusion of surreal pop. |
