Nanji
Desu Ka? is Japanese for "what time is it?" This
is one of those easy phrases they make you learn when you're studying
a new language; something that noisy tourists can pull out when
they want to try their hand at bluffing the locals.
I
feel sorry much of the time for you folks in Japan. It seems as
though the only Americans you'll ever meet wiil be the nerds who
are only there so they can watch cartoon shows and read comic books.
When you see nerds dressing up in cheesy costumes, doesn't it just
make you cringe?
So,
as a benefit to my fans from Japan, here's some advice for you.
Most Americans are not comic book geeks. Most of us are not gun-toting
drunks. Half of us did not vote for George Bush. Try not to laugh
too hard at the comic book losers; most of them have never kissed
a girl before. You could help them with that. Show them the sights.
Get them drunk on cheap alcohol.
And
don't let them dress up as cartoon characters. That's just embarassing. |
