Midori
is the Japanese word for green, for those at home keeping
score. I'm thinking of giving a lot of these newest paintings Japanese
names; partially as a tribute and thank-you to everyone visiting
this website from Japan, and, well, mostly because I'm trying to
learn this language of yours. I think I'm now at the level of a
two-year-old. I can count to ten and name colors. Whee.
As
you can see, this is the painting that I used for the Gallery section
banner. There is an excellent combination of texture, detail, and
motion, and that's why I wanted to use it. There are obviously a
lot of digital paintings in this series that follow from this mold,
but each variation was so good I could never bear to part with any. |
