Black Light Autumn

1998 - Markers and Correction Fluid on Paper

Another one of the "black light" collection; okay, there's only three pieces, so that probably doesn't count as a "collection." I looked to this drawing as an inspiration when I later created Seasons of Change. This was drawn out of a sketch book, which I used for just about everything. Pictures, bad poetry, momentos, and, yeah, lots of drawings and paintings.

A piece like this was assembled with marker pens and gold spray paint, which is spattered and layered around in order to achieve the right effect. This was something I was pretty good at, since I was doing this since my fanzine days in high school. 1998 was a pretty good time, and I think that spirit - more than any technical mastery of the craft - is what really comes through.
